Huddle Up Announces its Inaugural Facility at Maple Elementary School in Springfield
Huddle Up is pleased to announce its inaugural facility: the Richard “Rich” Schwab Memorial Field at Maple Elementary School. Since our organization’s founding, our chief goal has always been to provide local Title I school students with access to athletics and recreation. With a drive to bring social equity to our community, Huddle Up is proudly committed to providing low-income schools with the right facilities for both athletic programming and revenue generation.
The “Rich” Schwab Memorial Field was built to support a variety of sports and recreational activities, and is equipped with spaces for softball, football, baseball, and micro soccer. Featuring grass turf, dugouts, and a snack shack, it is truly an invaluable asset to Maple Elementary and its students. The facility was constructed with top-notch equipment, and is sure to attract private leasers and renters for years to come. The project was completed for approximately $600,000, and is expected to generate between $50-80k annually in revenue. The facility is dedicated to Rich Schwab in the hopes that his positive community influence and passion for youth athletics will continue to inspire many future students and visitors to the field.
At Huddle Up, we know that every student has a dream and a future. We’re proud to have partnered with Springfield Public Schools on this project, and look forward to many well-attended games in the near future.
